February Real Estate Market News & More

I hope all is well and that you are well recovered from the disappointment of the Super Bowl (assuming you had any!). In the homes market, January was a solid start to 2024: optimism in the new year and the market overall + lower interest rates (with expectation rates continue downward in 2024) motivated a healthy influx of new & returning buyers. Of the properties that went into contract, many saw a return to multiple-offers. Historically the market doesn't tend to get started until after the Super Bowl, so the data reflected in this newsletter doesn't include the jump in activity we have seen in the past week alone, but it does include some encouraging year-over-year data showing that while January is typically a quieter month for closings, there was a distinct increase in pending sales, which consequently led to fewer active listings than at this time last year. Onward we go into 2024 and what is sure to be a more robust market overall. A few interesting and relevant articles below as well.
